Derek in the Studio...

Derek has a brand new book coming from Simon and Schuster in 2012. Waking Dragons is written by the fabulous Jane Yolen (Derek illustrated). Derek fell in love with Jane's poem on his first read through and had a great time building a visual world and story around her evocative words. Waking Dragons will be published in fall 2012-- probably in late September (we'll post a pub date, a sneak peek and more as soon as we have them).

Derek is heading back into the studio to begin work on a brand new Hamster book for Scholastic Press. Hamster and his friends, Dog and the three mice, will all be back in this brand new title written by the talented Cynthia Lord.
